It is the second-straight Top-10 opponent they have faced
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The University of Louisville women's soccer team is back at home for a two-game homestand that kicks off on Thursday night. The Cardinals welcome the second-ranked Florida State Seminoles for a Thursday night matchup at Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium. The Cardinals and Seminoles are set to begin at 7 p.m. ET and it will be streamed on the ACC Network Extra.
This will be the second-straight Top-25 opponent the Cardinals will play and the third ranked opponent the Cardinals have seen this season. It is the second-straight Top-10 opponent the Cardinals have faced after the road matchup against No. 10 Notre Dame this past Saturday. The Cardinals first ranked matchup was against No. 20 Virginia on Sept. 16 and the two teams played to a 1-1 draw.
The Cardinals are still set to face three more ranked opponents this season with road matchups against No. 17 Wake Forest, No. 9 Clemson and then they close the regular season at home against No. 22 Duke.
Goalkeeper Erynn Floyd has had strong play of late and is second in the ACC with 49 saves this season. She has tallied four or more saves in five of her last six games and seven times total this season. She set a career high with nine saves on the road against Indiana and had eight saves against Notre Dame last weekend.
The Cardinals close out the homestand with Syracuse on Sunday, October 8. It will be Senior Day and Alumni day in the match against the Orange. The 2023 senior class will be honored prior to the game and all alumni are welcome to be honored at halftime.
