LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Former University of Louisville women's soccer student-athlete Allison Whitfield has signed with Racing Louisville FC of the National Women's Soccer League.
Whitfield is joining the club on a national team replacement contract where she will play alongside fellow Louisville alumnus Emina Ekic.
The former Cardinal has played with Racing's USL W League squad this summer, appearing in all 10 matches with 567 minutes on the pitch.
"I am beyond excited to have the opportunity to join Racing Louisville," Whitfield said. "Playing professionally has been a dream of mine since I was a little girl, and now to be able to come back after setbacks and injuries and be able to represent my hometown is incredible. I'm looking forward to this whole experience and being a part of the Racing community."
Whitfield donned a Louisville uniform from 2016-19, playing 69 career matches with 49 starts. She tallied seven goals and 16 assists during her four-year career.
Louisville recorded 41 wins during Whitfield's four seasons with back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances in 2018 and 2019.
