Griffin Remains in Contention for a Tournament Title at the Moon Golf Invitational

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Kendall Griffin of the University of Louisville women's golf team remained in contention for a tournament title by shooting a 2-under-par 70 during the second round of the Moon Golf Invitational at the Suntree Country Club's Classic Course on Monday.
The Cardinals shot a 17-over-par 305 to close the second round in 12th place. Florida State carded a second round of 1-under-par 287 to hold a two-shot lead over second-place Virginia. UCF is third and LSU is fourth, while Auburn and Florida are tied for fifth.
Griffin, who is at 6-under-par, enters the final round five shots off the lead after LSU's Ingrid Lindblad extended her advantage by firing a 5-under-par 67 on Monday. Tunrada Poon of UCF is in second place one shot ahead of Griffin.
A former LSU transfer, Griffin recorded six birdies on the day – 3 on each side – but recorded a double bogey on No. 3 and a bogey on No. 13 to close her round at 2-under.
Playing as individuals, Gabbi Bentancourt shot a 2-over-74 to sit in 19th place, while Agustina-Gomez Cisterna moved up to 28th after her even-par 72. Hana Ryskova dipped into a tie for 56th after her round of 80 and Carmen Griffiths and Mairead Martin are tied for 70th after their rounds of 81 and 77, respectively. Lauren Thibodeau is tied for 79th and Molly Lyne and Carly Haines are in 81st and 84th place.
