
Griffin Ties for Second Place at the Moon Golf Invitational

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Kendall Griffin of the University of Louisville women's golf teams fired a final round 1-under-par 71 to finish in a tie for second place at the Moon Golf Invitational at the Suntree Country Club Classic Course in Melbourne, Fla. on Tuesday.
Serving as the tournament's host, the Cardinals finished in 13th place against a very difficult field, featuring five teams ranked in the top 10 of the recent Golfstat rankings. The Cardinals shot a 28-over-par 892 in its first stroke play event of the spring.
Florida State won the tournament at 10-under-par, while Virginia was second at 4-under-par. LSU was in third place, with Alabama and UCF placing fourth and fifth, respectively.
Griffin was solid for the week, shooting 68-70-71=209 to finish at 7-under-par, which was three shots behind LSU's Ingrid Lindblad, who won medalist honors at 10-under-par. Griffin recorded three birdies during the final round of action to post her highest finish since joining the program in the fall.
Playing as an individual, Gabbi Bentancourt finished in a tie for 44th place after shooting 72-74-76=222, while Agustina Gomez-Cisterna and Hana Ryskova shot a 7-over-par 223 to close the tournament in a tie for 50th place, Mairead Martin tied for 72nd after shooting 78-77-76=231 and Carmen Griffiths tied for 74th after shooting 74-81-77-232.
Molly Lyne shot a final round 72 to move up to 79th and Lauren Thibodeau ended the day in 81st place after carding 81-78-78=237. Carly Haines finished 84th after her rounds of 90-84-74=248.
The Cardinals will compete at the Darius Rucker in Hilton Head, S.C., on Feb. 28-March 2.
