LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The University of Louisville women's golf team is opening up the 2026-27 season this week as it takes part in the Boilermaker Classic. Hosted at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex, the two-day tournament kicks off the season on Monday, August 30. The Cardinals are one of 16 teams competing in the tournament.
Four of the five players in the Louisville lineup are returners from the 2025-26 season. Senior Millie Cottrell, juniors Bailey Burkett and Veronika Exposito and sophomore Madison Moman are back in the lineup for the Cards opening tournament of the season.
Senior transfer Amy Hodgkins is also in the lineup as she joins the Cards after her first three collegiate seasons at Northern Arizona. Freshman Isabella Anderson is competing as an individual and rounds out the Cardinals competing this week.
Burkett, Cottrell and Exposito competed in all 11 tournaments for the Cards last season while Moman played in six during her freshman season. Exposito led the squad with a 73.50 scoring average and had 13 rounds at par or better. Burkett was second on the team with a 73.73 scoring average and nine rounds at par or better. Cottrell had a career-best 75.31 scoring average for the year while Moman tallied a 75.06 scoring average.
Hodgkins was All-Big Sky First Team in each of her three seasons at Northern Arizona. Over the summer, she was the CGA Women's Amateur Champion, which gave her an exemption into the U.S. Women's Amateur. Anderson had a strong prep career before coming to the Cardinals as she ranked No. 37 overall in the AJGA rankings and qualified for the 2026 U.S. Girls' Junior Championship.
36 holes will be played on the first day of the tournament as a shotgun start will begin play at 9 a.m. ET on Monday for the first and second round. Fans can follow along for updates with the live stats here or on our social media channels.
