Women’s Golf Finishes Second at Fighting Irish Classic

Two Cards finish in the Top 10
SOUTH BEND, Ind. — The Louisville women's golf team logged its best finish of the season after the final round of the Fighting Irish Classic Sunday at the Warren Golf Course. In a field of 15 teams, the Cardinals finished second overall to log the team's first Top 3 finish on the season. Louisville shot 7-over-par 291 for the third-straight round to finish 21-over-par 873.
The junior duo led the way for the Cardinals as Bailey Burkett and Veronika Exposito both finished in the Top 10. Burkett was one-over-par 72 in the final round to finish sixth overall at 1-over-par 214 for the tournament. Exposito had her best round of the weekend with an even-par 71 in the final round. She finished the tournament 3-over-par 216 and tied for 10th overall.
Amy Hodgkins tallied her second Top 20 finish of the season after a final round 2-over-par 73. She finished tied for 14th overall at 5-over-par 218 for the tournament.
Competing as an individual, Millie Cottrell logged her first Top 20 finish of the season. She had a 4-over-par 75 in the final round to finish tied for 18th overall at 9-over-par 222 for the tournament.
Madison Moman finished tied for 25th overall at 12-over-par 225 for the tournament. She was 4-over-par 75 in the final round on Sunday.
Isabella Anderson rounded out the scoring for the Cardinals. She had the best round of the weekend on Sunday with a 4-over-par 75. She finished tied for 58th overall at 21-over-par 234 for the tournament.
The Cardinals will be back in action in a few weeks when they travel to the Evie Odom Invitational. Hosted by Old Dominion in Norfolk, Virginia, it will be a three-day tournament that starts on Friday, October 9.
