Women’s Golf in Eighth After First Round of Ironwood Invitational

The Cardinals have two players in the Top 15 after the first round
GREENVILLE, N.C. — The Louisville women's golf team is in eighth place overall after the first round of the Ironwood Invitational Sunday afternoon at the Ironwood Golf & Country Club. The Cardinals shot a 23-over-par 311 in the opening round on Sunday.
Emree Cameron is competing as an individual in the tournament but she had the best score for the Cardinals in the opening round. Cameron carded a 1-over-par 73 in the first round with two birdies. She is tied for sixth overall heading into the second day of action.
Thienna Huynh is in the Top 15 after a 2-over-par 74 for the first round. She had four birdies in the round and is tied for 13th overall. Veronika Exposito is tied for 27th overall with a 5-over-par 77. Bailey Burkett carded an eagle on the front nine and finished with a 6-over-par 78 for the first round. She is tied for 29th overall heading into the second round.
Millie Cottrell and Madison Moman rounded out the scoring for the Cardinals on Sunday. Cottrell was 10-over-par 82 in the first round and is tied for 67th overall. Moman was 11-over-par 83 and is tied for 73rd overall.
