July 08, 2021 | Women's Soccer
The Cardinals will play 11 home games at Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville women's soccer released its 2021 schedule on Thursday, which includes 11 home games at Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium.
"Every year it's important that we have a challenging schedule to help us prepare to be the best team that we can be," said head coach Karen Ferguson-Dayes. "We have a tremendous non-conference schedule and as always an extremely challenging ACC schedule. Every competitive player wants to be challenged at a national level and this schedule certainly does that."
The Cardinals open with four consecutive home games and host Ball State on Saturday, Aug. 14 to begin the season. They then host Western Michigan on Aug. 19, James Madison on Aug. 26 and Northern Kentucky on Aug. 29.
After playing at St. Louis on Sept. 2, they return home to host Western Kentucky on Sept. 5 and Michigan on Sept. 10.
Louisville then opens Atlantic Coast Conference play with two straight on the road, playing at Miami on Sept. 17 and at Syracuse on Sept. 23.
The Cardinals then play four of their next five games at home – hosting Florida State on Sept. 26 and Wake Forest on Oct. 2 before playing at Notre Dame on Oct. 7. They then return home to host NC State on Oct. 10 and Boston College on Oct. 16.
They play at Virginia on Oct. 21 and at Clemson on Oct. 24 before closing the regular season with a home tilt against Duke on Oct. 28.
Last season, the Cardinals opened the shortened season with wins in three of their first four games before finishing 4-4 in ACC play.
