Henry Davis homered for the only Louisville run of the night.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Henry Davis hit his 12^th home run of the season, but it was the only run of the game for the eighth-ranked University of Louisville baseball team on Friday night as it lost 5-1 at North Carolina.

North Carolina (22-22, 15-16 ACC) picked up a two-run homer in the second and a solo shot in the third to open up an early lead. The Tar Heels then tacked on a two-run single in the fifth to open up a 5-0 advantage.

Davis got one of the runs back leading off the sixth, launching a long solo home run to left-centerfield. However, Louisville (26-16, 16-11) was unable to get anything else across on the night.

Michael Kirian (5-3) allowed five runs across six innings of work. Evan Webster turned in a pair of scoreless innings out of the bullpen.

Louisville and North Carolina continue the three-game series on Saturday with first pitch scheduled for 2 p.m. ET.
