No. 3 Cardinals Notch 12-5 Win at Kentucky

Alex Binelas and Dalton Rushing combined to drive in seven in the win.
Dalton Rushing came up a triple shy of the cycle, driving in four and homering for the third straight game to lead the offensive attack. Alex Binelas registered three hits of his own to go with three RBIs to continue his hot hitting.
Louisville (23-11) got the offense going from the outset as Cooper Bowman singled through the left side on the very first pitch of the game. A hit batter and infield single loaded the bases before Trey Leonard was also hit by a pitch and Lucas Dunn worked a walk to force home the first two runs.
Rushing then delivered the first big blow of the night, lining a double into the left field corner to plate a pair of runs and push the lead out to four. Luke Brown followed with a RBI groundout and the Cardinals had a 5-0 lead after the top of the first.
Carter Lohman (1-1) was the beneficiary of the offensive explosion on Tuesday, as the southpaw recorded a pair of scoreless innings with four strikeouts to earn the victory.
The offense kept adding on for him in the second, with Binelas singling past the shifted infield to drive home two runners to make in 7-0. Bowman and Usher each registered RBIs in the third and Rushing launched a two-run shot to straightaway centerfield in the fourth to give Louisville an 11-0 lead.
Kentucky (22-12) tallied single runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings, but the margin was too much to overcome.
Nine different pitchers stepped on the mound for the Cardinals in the win, with Cameron Robinson and Tate Kuehner turning in scoreless outings after Lohman. Adam Elliott then came on and recorded the final five outs to secure the win.
Louisville is back at home this weekend for three against No. 17 Pitt. First pitch on Friday is scheduled for 3 p.m. ET at Jim Patterson Stadium and can be seen on ACC Network.
