Caroline Blalock netted her 100th career goal in the Top 15 matchup.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Caroline Blalock became the 10th player in program history to record 100 career goals, but No. 15 University of Louisville women's lacrosse suffered a 19-5 loss to No. 3 Syracuse on Friday afternoon at UofL Lacrosse Stadium.

The Cardinals drop to 5-8 on the season and 1-7 in the ACC after the loss, while the Orange improve to 10-1 on the year and 6-1 in the league.

Syracuse jumped out to the lead less than three minutes into the game, but Caroline Blalock responded with the first two goals for the Cardinals. After converting a free position attempt 10 minutes into the first half, Caroline Blalock became the 10th player in UofL history to score 100 goals.Â

Back-to-back goals from Nicole Perroni and Ally Hall put the Cardinals within one with 6:39 left on the clock, but the Orange went on a 4-0 run to take a 10-5 lead heading into the break. Â

Syracuse had nine unanswered goals during the second half, and the Orange defense held the Cardinals to just four shots. Syracuse out-shot the Cardinals 33-17 throughout the contest and had 13 draw controls to Louisville's 11.
