Cardinals Drop Game Two at Georgia Tech

The series is even after a 19-6 Georgia Tech victory.
The series is even at one apiece after the Cardinals turned in a 13-6 victory in game one on Friday. The rubber game of the weekend is set for 3 p.m. ET on Sunday and can be seen on the ACC Network.
Louisville (7-3, 1-1 ACC) was the first to find the scoreboard on Saturday, as Levi Usher singled leading off the second inning and eventually came around to score on a wild pitch.
It was all Georgia Tech (7-3, 4-1) from there however. The Yellow Jackets plated six runs in the second, added another in the third and two more in the fourth to lead 9-1 after four innings.
The Cardinals mounted an offensive threat in the fifth started by a leadoff double from Alex Binelas. Two singles followed to load the bases and Christian Knapczyk lined a knock to right to drive home a run. However, an unconventional double play and a groundout limited Louisville's scoring to just one in the inning.
Georgia Tech answered right back in the bottom half of the inning, scoring four more runs to help put the game away.
UofL was able to push three across in the seventh on Luke Brown's run-scoring single and a two-run double off the bat of Tim Borden II, and then added one more in the eighth on a Jack Payton single.
Lucas Dunn finished with a 3-for-4 day at the plate, while Binelas and Knapczyk each had a pair of hits as well. The 13 hits were tied for the most in a game this season for the Cardinals.
The 19 runs were tied for the most allowed during Dan McDonnell's tenure at Louisville. The Cardinals also gave up 19 on May 10, 2009 at St. John's.
