No. 14 Cardinals Set to Host No. 22 Georgia Tech and NC State

Louisville is second in the nation in blocking
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The No. 14-ranked Louisville Cardinals take on No. 22 Georgia Tech at 5 p.m. Friday and NC State at 2 p.m. Sunday all at the L&N Federal Credit Union Arena.Â
The Cardinals (10-2, 9-2) are vying for a share of the lead in the ACC standings where the Yellowjackets now stand atop the league at 11-2. Â

No. 23 Georgia Tech volleyball completed a perfect weekend in Atlantic Coast Conference play with a dominant 3-0 (25-23, 25-15, 25-10) win over Syracuse on Saturday afternoon in Blacksburg. As a team, Georgia Tech outhit Syracuse (5-6, 5-6 ACC) by a .250-102 margin. The Jackets also held wide advantages in kills (41-24), assists (39-22) and digs (54-39). Paired with Friday's 3-0 win over home-standing Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech (11-2, 11-2 ACC) went 2-0 on the weekend and outscored its opponents by a combined 150-95 tally.
For the second-straight match, NC State (8-7, 7-7 ACC) Â swept its opponent with a 3-0 win, the most recent being Boston College last Sunday afternoon in Raleigh. With a team .319 hitting percentage, Sunday marked the first time this season NC State has pieced together back-to-back performances hitting above .300. Â Melissa Evans notched 11 kills, tying for 10th all-time on the career kills list at NC State. Evans now has 1,168 career kills. The Pack was led byJade Parchment, who tallied 13 kills and 14 digs for the 20th double-double of her career.

Dani Busboom Kelly has a 3-0 record against NC State and is 4-0 against Georgia Tech.

Led by Aiko Jones' 13 kills and four blocks, the Louisville Cardinals defeated the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 3-0 (25-20, 25-15, 27-25) Oct. 4, 2019. Jones led the team with 13 kills and a .667 hitting percentage, while fellow freshman Nena Mbonu chipped in with eight kills of her own. Junior Alexis Hamilton led the Cards on defense with 8 digs. Georgia Tech was led on offense by Julia Bergmann, who accumulated 14 kills.
Outside hitter Melanie McHenry had 29 kills and setter Tori Dilfer tied her career-best with 54 assists to lead the Cards to a 3-2 victory over North Carolina State. Aiko Jones added three service aces and 15 kills with Anna Stevenson chipping in seven blocks. UofL hit .254 with 67 digs. NCSU hit .150 with 10 blocks and 75 digs. Melissa Evans had 20 kills on the night.

The rookie from Louisville, Kentucky, DeBeer totaled 13 digs, 10 kills, one block and an ace in two wins over Duke. The Cardinal outside hitter posted a .389 hitting percentage to go with 11.5 points.
