No. 13 Cardinals Beat No. 25 Florida State

Anna Stevenson has 13 kills and nine blocks
The No. 13-ranked University of Louisville downed No. 25 Florida State in ACC volleyball action Saturday afternoon in Charlottesville, Va.

The Cardinals won 19-25, 25-16, 25-21, 25-16 and moved their record to a record of 10-2 and are 8-2 in league play. Louisville hit .260 for the match led by 14 kills by both Aiko Jones and Anna DeBeer. Anna Stevenson had 13 kills, hit .632 and added nine blocks. In all, the Cardinals had 17 blocks and 64 digs, led by Ayden Bartlett's 18 digs. Tori Dilfer had a match-high 53 assists and added three kills and an ace.

Florida State moved to 10-4 and 6-4 in the league. The Seminoles hit .131 with four aces and four blocks. The FSU offense was powered by 12 kills from both Morgan Chacon and Emma Clothier, who also added three blocks.

Due to the suspension of the Virginia coaching staff, the match with the Cavaliers and the Cardinals was declared a no contest but a win was awarded to Louisville and Florida State in terms of conference standings. The Cavs did host the match in its original timeslot.

The Cardinals return home next Friday to take on league-leading Georgia Tech on March 26 at 5 p.m. in the L&N Federal Credit Union Arena. On Sunday, Louisville will host NC State at 2 p.m.  Â
