
Ekic, Kouzelos Named Preseason All-ACC

Louisville was picked seventh in the ACC preseason poll.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville senior midfielder Emina Ekic and redshirt senior goalkeeper Gabby Kouzelos have been selected to the 2020 Women's Soccer Preseason All-ACC Team.
Ekic was named All-ACC first team the last two seasons. She started all 20 matches a year ago and led the team with eight goals and eight assists. She recorded five game-winning goals, which ranked first on the team, third in the ACC, and 27th in the nation.
Ekic has 16 career assists, which ranks second all-time in Louisville program history.
Kouzelos was named All-ACC second team a season ago after starting all 20 matches. She concluded the year with a 13-5-2 record and led the team to 10 shutouts, ranking second in team history. She finished the season with a career-high 51 saves on the year and her 0.87 goals against average ranked second all-time in program history.
Louisville is picked seventh in the ACC preseason poll with 77 points, just two points shy of sixth-place Notre Dame (79) and nine points shy of fifth-place Clemson (86). North Carolina was voted the preseason favorite with eight first place votes, while Florida State was picked second and Virginia was picked third.
Louisville opens its season on Thursday, Sept. 17 at Miami. The Cardinals first game at Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium will take place on Thursday, Oct. 1 against Syracuse.
