The Cardinals will play an eight-game Atlantic Coast Conference slate.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville women's soccer's eight-game Atlantic Coast Conference schedule was released by the league on Friday afternoon.
The Cardinals will play four home games and four away games with the season beginning on Thursday, Sept. 17 and concluding on Thursday, Oct. 29.
Louisville opens its eight-game slate with two road games in Florida, playing at Miami on Sept. 17 and at Florida State on Sept. 20.
The Cardinals open the home portion of their schedule against Syracuse on Oct. 1 and then host Boston College on Oct. 4. They then travel to play at Virginia on Oct. 15 and at Virginia Tech on Oct. 18.
Louisville wraps the 2020 regular season slate with home contests against Notre Dame on Oct. 25 and North Carolina on Oct. 29.
Following the eight-game schedule, the top eight teams will participate in the ACC Championship, which is planned for WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C., beginning Tuesday, Nov. 10. The semifinals will be played on Friday, Nov. 13, while the championship will be Sunday, Nov. 15.
The Cardinals went 13-5-2 and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament a season ago. They finished 5-3-2 in ACC play.
Louisville returns two All-ACC performers with senior midfielder Emina Ekic and redshirt senior goalkeeper Gabby Kouzelos.
Ekic has been named All-ACC first team the last two seasons and finished last year with a team-high eight goals and eight assists. She recorded five game-winning goals, which ranked first on the team, third in the ACC, and 27th in the nation.
Kouzelos was named All-ACC second team last year after finishing the season with 10 shutouts, which ranked second all-time in team history.
Attendance policies for fans at Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium are still being reviewed and will be announced in the days leading up to the first contest.
ACC leadership, and its medical advisory group, will continue to meet on a weekly basis to share information and discuss medical issues related to the ACC's return to play. Should any future adjustments be necessary, the ACC Board of Directors will do so at the appropriate time.
