
Ekic Named ACC and Top Drawer Player of the Week

Emina Ekic finished the week with three goals and two assists, contributing to all five Louisville goals.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville women's soccer senior Emina Ekic has been named Top Drawer's National Player of the Week and ACC Player of the Week following her performance in wins over Syracuse and Boston College.
It marks the third time in her career that Ekic has been named ACC Player of the Week.
The preseason All-ACC selection led the Cardinals to a 2-0 week, as she contributed to all five Louisville goals. She scored twice in the 3-0 victory against Syracuse, tallying an assist on the first goal before recording a brace in the second half of the match.
Against Boston College on Sunday, Ekic notched an assist in the first half and a goal in the second half to lead the Cards to the 2-0 win.
The Louisville, Kentucky, native finished the week with three goals, two assists, eight points and six shots on goal.
Ekic ranks second in the ACC in points with 13 on the year, highlighted by five goals and three assists.
In addition, Louisville is ranked 13th in the latest United Soccer Coaches Poll. The Cardinals are one of seven ACC teams in the poll's Top 15.
Louisville returns to action when they travel to play at Virginia on Thursday, Oct. 15.
