Cards earn kudos after sweep of Northwestern

Louisville's Nicolas Albiero has been selected as the ACC Men's Swimmer of the Week, and fellow Cardinal Daniel Pinto has been named Diver of the Week and Molly Fears has been named Diver of the Week.

Albiero had a strong showing in a win over Northwestern. The junior from Louisville, Kentucky, won three of his four races and placed among the top two in all four. He won the 200 backstroke, placed second in the 200 butterfly and was part of the winning teams on the 200 medley relay and 400 free relay.

For the fourth time this season, Pinto swept the springboard events at a meet. The junior diver from Lima, Peru, won the 1-meter competition with a 368.48 and took first in the 3-meter event with a 330.90.

Fears swept the springboard events to help Louisville defeat Northwestern. The Plainfield, Indiana, native won all the diving events for the second time this season, taking first on the 1-meter boards with a 279.98 and the 3-meter competition with a score of 300.68.
