
Cardinals Have Four Named to US National Team

Nick Albiero, Zach Harting, Mallory Comerford and Kelsi Dahlia will rep Team USA
Following a 2019 summer highlighted by four international events and 152 medals, USA Swimming today announced the names of 115 swimmers who will be named to the 2019-2020 USA Swimming National Team. The University of Louisville will be represented by Nick Albiero, Zach Harting, Mallory Comerford and Kelsi Worrell Dahlia.Â

"In the final summer of preparation before the Olympic Games, the U.S. saw great performances across four very competitive international events as well as the Phillips 66 National Championships," USA Swimming National Team Managing Director Lindsay Mintenko said. "The depth of our talent across this country, marked by our biggest ever class of first-time National team members, is inspiring and promising as we head into the final and most challenging year of the Olympic Quad."

The 2019-2020 USA Swimming National Team by the numbers:
The 2019-2020 USA Swimming National Team features the top six athletes with the highest World Rankings in individual Olympic Events. Qualifying times come from USA Swimming or FINA sanctioned meets from January 1, 2019 through August 25, 2019. For full selection criteria, visit: usaswimming.org.

The 2019-2020 USA Swimming Open Water National Team is comprised of the athletes selected to compete at the 2019 FINA Open Water World Championship, which took place in July in Yeosu, South Korea. Remaining positions were filled based on results from the 2019 USA Swimming 10K National Championships. The open water selection procedure can be found at: usaswimming.org.

- 26 states represented; California leads the way with 16 athletes
- 60-plus USA Swimming clubs represented; California Aquatics highest-represented club with 12 swimmers
- 32 medalists from the 2019 FINA World Championships
- 24 first-time National Team members
- 12 members of the 2018-19 National Junior Team move up to senior team
