August 30, 2019 | Baseball
The Cardinals will host Eastern Kentucky on Sept. 7 and travel to the Dominican Republic Oct. 4-8.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville baseball program has released its fall schedule, which features a home scrimmage against Eastern Kentucky and a trip to the Dominican Republic.
The Cardinals will play host to EKU at Jim Patterson Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 7 at 1 p.m., ET. The scrimmage precedes the Louisville football team's contest against the Colonels scheduled for 7:00 p.m., ET, at Cardinal Stadium.
Louisville will hit the international circuit as well this fall, traveling to the Dominican Republic Oct. 4-8. Similar to the Cardinals' trip to the Dominican Republic in 2015, this year's trip will include multiple games against local winter league teams while also offering community service opportunities for the players and coaches. The complete schedule of activities for the trip will be announced at a later date.
The Cardinals are slated to open team workouts on Friday, Sept. 6 and will host their annual Pizza Bowl series Oct. 14-20. Louisville also has intrasquad scrimmages tentatively scheduled throughout the fall with the dates and times announced on a weekly basis.
Louisville enters the fall coming off its fifth NCAA College World Series appearance in 2019. The Cardinals finished the season 51-18 overall and made their deepest postseason run in program history, reaching the bracket final in Omaha.
