Cards had Comerford, Barna and De Lucca were in action last night
Four University of Louisville Cardinal swimmers were in action at the FINA World Champions as Joao De Lucca, Andrej Barna, Mallory Comerford and Kelsi Worrell Dahlia were on the blocks competing for their countries.

In the men's 4x200 freestyle final: UofL's Joao De Lucca was part of the Team Brazil that took seventh place with a time of 7:07.64. De Lucca  split 1:47.11 for Brazil.

In the women's 50M butterfly semifinal, Kelsi Worrell Dahlia took the second place in Heat 1 with a time of 25.59. That time ranks her as the fourth seed going into tomorrow's finals. Â

In the women's 100M freestyle final: Mallory Comerford took seventh with a time of  53.22. The USA's Simone Manuel posted a new American Record of 52.04 to defend her title. Australia's Cate Campbell took silver in 52.43, beating World Record holder Sarah Sjostrom of Sweden, who posted a 52.46.

Cardinal Andrej Barna swam with Team Serbia in the 4x100 free relay and finished 19th in 7:15.31. The rising senior put up a split of 48.29.
