
Louisville Hosts Cincinnati on Thursday

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Following a 23-13 win at Duquesne on Tuesday, University of Louisville women's lacrosse returns home to face Cincinnati on Thursday at 10 a.m. ET.

The Cardinals enter the game with a 3-6 record, but are 2-1 in their last three games, with their lone defeat an 11-10 double overtime loss to No. 15 Duke.

In the last three games, Louisville is outscoring opponents 48-29.

In the 23-13 win over Duquesne on Tuesday, Tessa Chad scored a program-record nine goals. The nine goals also tied the single-game high in the NCAA this season.

She leads the team and ranks fifth in the ACC with 28 goals this season.

Shay Clevenger ranks fourth in the ACC with 20 ground balls, while Maddie Birch ranks fifth with 15 caused turnovers.

Cincinnati (3-4) enters Thursday's matchup looking to snap a two-game losing streak against Central Michigan and No. 20 Michigan. Two of the Bearcats' four losses have come against ranked opponents, and they boast wins over Kent State, Marquette and Detroit Mercy.Â

Junior Monica Borzillo leads the Bearcats' attack with 23 goals and 19 assists for 42 points, as well as a team-high 16 caused turnovers. Sophomore Alyssa Adams follows Borzillo in scoring with 12 goals and one assist for 13 points. Senior goalkeeper Guiliana Durso has tallied 64 saves through seven contests, while also collecting 15 ground balls.

The Bearcats were picked to finish fifth in the American Athletic Conference Preseason poll, and Borzillo as well as midfielders Amanda Donovan and Sam Mlkvy were selected to the 2019 AAC Preseason All-Conference Team.
