
Ekic and Rivers Earn United Soccer Coaches All-Region Honors

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Louisville's Emina Ekic and Brooklynn Rivers earned All-Atlantic Region honors by United Soccer Coaches association. Ekic earned first team honors for the third straight season while Rivers earns first team honors for the first time and her second straight all-region honor.
Ekic had her best season to date for the Cardinals. She earned first team All-ACC honors for the second straight year, and third straight All-ACC postseason honor. Ekic finished the season as the team's leading scorer with eight goals and eight assists for 24 points. She also led the team in assists. Ekic converted a career-high 3 of 4 penalty kicks. She finished the year with five game-winning goals, which ranks her third in the ACC and 27th nationally.
Rivers earns her second career United Soccer Coaches All-Region honor. The senior forward finished her final season as the second leading scorer for the Cardinals with 10 points, finishing with five goals. She earned third team All-ACC honors. She finished her career with the Cardinals scoring 21 goals and dishing out 13 assists for 55 points.
