
Ekic, Kouzelos and Rivers Earn All-ACC honors

Louisville trio earns postseason honors
GREENSBORO, N.C. – Atlantic Coast Conference announced the women's soccer postseason awards on Thursday afternoon. Louisville's Emina Ekic was named a first team All-ACC selection for the second straight year and her third straight year of earning All-ACC honors. Redshirt junior Gabby Kouzelos was named a second team All-ACC selection while senior Brooklynn Rivers earned third team All-ACC honors for the second straight year.
Florida State's senior Midfielder Deyna Castellanos was chosen as the ACC Offensive Player of the Year, while North Carolina's Anson Dorrance was honored as the ACC Coach of the Year in a vote by the league's head coaches.
FSU's Castellanos also received the nod as the ACC Midfielder of the Year, while Florida State's Malia Berkely was selected the Defensive Player of the Year. North Carolina defender Maycee Bell was tabbed as the ACC Freshman of the Year.
Ekic was named to the first team after having her best season to date for the Cardinals. She earned preseason All-ACC honors and was named to the Hermann Trophy Watch List. Ekic finished the regular season with eight goals and seven assists for 23 points. She has five game-winning goals on the year, which ranks her second in the conference and 21st nationally. The junior earned ACC Offensive Player of the Week honors once this season and was named to the Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Week twice.
Kouzelos earns second team All-ACC honors. She has played 1585 minutes and has started in all 18 matches for the Cardinals, earning a 12-4-2 record. The redshirt junior has helped the Cardinals to eight shutouts this season while grabbing 45 saves. She owns the school record in career shutouts and ranks second in career goals against average at 0.93.
Rivers earns her second career ACC postseason honor. The senior forward is the second leading scorer for the Cardinals this season with 10 points. She also ranks second on the team with five goals. Scored the game-winning goal against Saint Louis. She has converted 1-of-1 penalty kicks this season
