Divers Send Four to Finals at NC State/GAC Invitational

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- After preliminaries on Day 1 of the NC State/GAC Invitational, the University of Louisville will send four divers to the finals Friday afternoon at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.

In the women's 1M board, Molly Fears, Michaela Sliney and Abigail Erickson will advance to the finals. In the prelims, Fears posted a 277.25 and will be seeded second. Sliney posted a 252.00, good for fifth and Erickson returns after qualifying 8^th with a 233.86. Auburn's Alison Maillard was the top qualifier with a score of 293.40.

Abigail Andrews (230.55) and Brianna Price (228.25) finished in 11^th and 12^th respectively and moved into the consolations finals. Andrews was second in the consols with a 258.40. Price finished 8^th in the consol finals with a 218.65.

For the men, Daniel Pinto qualified third in the men's 3M diving with a 361.00 and will return for the finals. Duke's Nathaniel Hernandez was the top qualifier with a score of 418.25.

Kivanc Gur (311.30) was 9^th, Sky Geovanni (308.05) was 11^th, Sean Riley (293.40) was 13^th Adam Sneden (286.20) was 14th and Logan Smith (276.85) was 18^th.

In the six dive consolation finals, Adam Sneden was second (311.35), Gur was 4^th (302.95), Geovanni was 6^th (286.35) and Riley was 7^th (282.95).
