Bio
Senior: Sliney proved to be an integral part of the Cardinals’ diving squad during her senior season. At the NC State Wolfpack Invitational, she dove to fifth on the 3-meter (288.75), sixth on the 1-meter (257.50), and ninth on the 10-meter (217.10). Sliney registered 11 top-five finishes throughout dual meet competition, highlighted by a victory on the 3-meter (321.15) against Notre Dame. She also finished second on the 1-meter (280.95) versus Tennessee and third on the 1-meter (267.00) against Kentucky. For her performances on both the boards and in the classroom, Sliney was named to the All-ACC Academic Team and ACC Honor Roll. She was also named the ACC Diver of the Week on Nov. 5.
Junior: Sliney qualified for her first NCAA Championships as a junior, competing on both the 1-meter (250.10) and 3-meter (248.50) boards. At the NCAA Zone C Championships, she finished seventh on the 3-meter and eighth on the 1-meter to solidify her spot at the NCAA Championships. At ACCs, Sliney qualified for the 3-meter final, where she finished eighth overall with a score of 260.25. She also scored points on both the platform and 1-meter, finishing 10th and 11th respectively. At the IU Invitational, she finished second on both the 1-meter (268.65) and 3-meter (303.70) and sixth on the platform (203.50). Throughout the dual meet season, she posted a number of top-three finishes, highlighted by a second place on the 3-meter and third place on the 1-meter in the Cards’ meet against Kentucky.
Sophomore: Sliney competed on all three dive events for the Cardinals at the ACC Championships, taking 20th on the 1-meter (235.30), 24th on the platform (169.40), and 35th on the 3-meter (201.05). Against Kentucky, she posted a score of 277.20 on the 1-meter and earned the win for the Cardinals. Sliney posted season bests on both the platform (217.55) and the 3-meter (275.75) at the Miami Invitational. Sliney also earned Honorable Mention CSCAA Scholar All-America Honors.
Freshman: Sliney competed in nine meets for the Cardinals in her freshman season. At the UofL Invitational, she scored 72 points, placing second in the 3-meter (286.85), sixth in the 1-meter (249.25), and ninth in the platform (194.95). Other highlights include a third place finish in the meet against Tennessee in the 1-meter (250.70) and a fourth place in the 1-meter (263.25) against North Carolina.
Prep: Sliney left New England to come to Louisville from Bradford, Mass. where she attended Haverhill High School. She was the 2015 Division 1 State Champion on 1-meter during which she broke the state record. She holds two school records and was a finalist at the AAU Nationals. In addition to diving, Sliney has also competed in indoor and outdoor track and was a MA State Champion in the Pentathlon. Academically, she is a member of NHS, was named an All-Scholastic selection by the Boston Globe, was the secretary of the Interact club and a member of the Model UN Club
