Road Match at Boston College Next for No. 7 Cardinals

Kickoff for Louisville and BC slated for Friday at 7 p.m., ET at Newton Campus Fields
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -Â The No. 7 Louisville men's soccer team continues its challenging ACC gauntlet with a road match against Boston College on Friday at 7 p.m., ET at the Newton Campus Fields. The match will be televised on ACC Network Extra, while live stats will be available at GoCards.com.
ABOUT THE CARDINALS
Louisville enters its first ACC road match at 3-1-0 overall and 1-0-0 in the league following Sunday's 3-0 victory over No. 2 Duke. The Cardinals are atop the ACC Atlantic standings with three points matching the total for Boston College and Wake Forest.
Six different Cardinals have scored a goal through the first four matches of the season -- Elijah Amo, Geoffrey Dee, Cherif Dieye, Ziyad Fekri, Kino Ryosuke and Adam Wilson. Sophomores Jake Gelnovatch and Will Meyer have shared the goalkeeping duties this season with both players making two starts and each of them delivering one shutout.Â
The Cardinals produced another successful season in 2017 reaching the quarterfinal round of the NCAA Championship for the fifth time in the last eight seasons, including the second straight year, and earning a No. 7 ranking in the final United Soccer Coaches Top 25. Louisville had a 13-2-5 record and was second in the ACC Atlantic with a 5-2-1 league mark.
ABOUT THE EAGLES
Boston College enters the match at 2-0-3 overall following a 1-1 draw with Holy Cross on Tuesday and 1-0-0 in the ACC after last Friday's 3-2 victory against Clemson. The Eagles were 6-10-1 overall last season, including a 1-6-1 mark in the ACC before ending their season with a loss to Virginia in the first round of the 2017 ACC Championship.Â

Louisville leads 3-0-1 in the all-time series with Boston College, which dates back to 2014. The Cardinals are 1-0-1 in two previous road matches against the Eagles, including a 1-1 draw in their most recent trip to Newton in 2016. The No. 6 ranking marked the second straight season UofL has received a preseason top 10 ranking after being slotted at No. 9 last season.
Louisville was among seven Atlantic Coast Conference teams in this year's preseason top 25, including five programs in the top 11.
