
Natalie Gorman Will Be Inducted to the Red Bank Catholic High School 2018 Athletic Hall of Fame

Former Cardinal assistant earns hall of fame honor
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Former University of Louisville women's soccer assistant coach Natalie Gorman will be inducted into the Red Bank Catholic High School 2018 Athletic Hall of Fame. The 2018 class will be inducted on Saturday, June 23, 2018 with a program to be held in the RBC Vincent J. Eck Student Center.
Gorman served as an assistant coach on Karen Ferguson-Dayes' coaching staff for eight seasons before being named the new athletic director at the Ranney School in July of 2017. While at Louisville, Gorman helped guide the Cardinals to not only their first NCAA Tournament berth, but multiple trips to the NCAAs.
During the record-setting 2011 season, the Cardinals also advanced to their first ever BIG EAST Tournament title game and ended the season ranked 24th overall in the final NSCAA coaches' poll. Louisville earned an at-large berth into the 2011 NCAA Championship and was selected as a host for the first time in the post-season tournament. The Cardinals delivered on the opportunity to play in front of the home fans earning a dominating 2-0 victory over Dayton for the program's first ever NCAA Championship win. They followed that with an impressive 2-0 road triumph over No. 5 Memphis in the second round before falling to ninth-ranked Florida State in the Sweet 16.
Prior to moving into the coaching ranks, Gorman had a stellar playing career for the Mountaineers from 2004-07, where she scored 15 goals, 5 assists and 35 points. She was captain of the 2007 Mountaineer team that was BIG EAST Champions, made it to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament and finished ranked No. 1 in the NSCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional.
One of the most decorated players in WVU's history, Gorman was named BIG EAST Player of the Week a total of six times as well as voted Most Valuable Defensive player by teammates and coaches her senior season. She was also voted hardest working player during 2007 season three times. She is a 2008 graduate of WVU with a degree in health and physical education.
She was also a key member of WVU's back-to-back BIG EAST regular season champions in 2006 and 2007 and Mountaineers' 2007 BIG EAST Tournament title. Overall, she was a four-year starter for WVU as a midfielder and defender.
During her four seasons as a player, WVU was named Soccer Buzz Elite team of the week five times and Soccer America team of the week five times while sporting impressive 59-21-8 record. The Mountaineers qualified for the NCAA Tournament each of her four years as a player.
A Monmouth County native, Gorman is a 2003 graduate of RBC and was a first-team All-Shore and All-State selection when she was at RBC, where she scored 53 goals and had 35 assists during her career for the Caseys. RBC won its first NJSIAA Parochial A championship during her senior year. She was ranked No. 7 in the nation at her position in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and a No. 1 ranking in the Mid-Atlantic Region her senior year.
