Cardinals Add Three Standouts in 2019

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- University of Louisville head coach Karen Ferguson-Dayes announced the 2019 women's soccer recruiting class on Thursday afternoon. The 2019 class consists of three high school standouts.

This year's class boasts two offensive and one defensive player joining the Cardinals in the fall of 2019. On offense the Cards added Canadian forward Jessica DeFilippo and Connecticut forward Corinne Dente. Defensively, Louisville added Louisville native Mikayla Miller at goalkeeper.

Club Team Accomplishments
In past seven years for Lakeshore Soccer Club, scored 175 goals in 148 games… League Champions every year for past seven years… Won two gold, one silver, and one bronze medal at the Canadian National Championships… 2018 Finalist for the Gala Sports Quebec Athlete of the Year… Scored 16 goals in 18 games during 2018 campaign… 2017 Golden Boot Winner at Canada Games for tying Canadian Record for most goals scored at the tournament… 2017 Canada Games All-Star Team Selection… Scored 24 goals in 22 games during 2017 season… Part of team that won the first gold medal for Quebec since the inception of the Canada Games in 2017… 2016 Quebec Athlete of the Year after scoring 28 goals in 25 games… Won Golden Ball MVP and Golden Boot in the Elite Quebec Soccer League in 2015 for scoring 38 goals in 26 games… 2015 Golden Shoe "Best Striker" Winner.

Provincial Team Accomplishments
Member of 2018 Team Canada for the U17 World Cup held in Uruguay… Selected to 2018 Canadian U20 CONCACAF Championship team… Attended first Canadian Team Camp in 2014… Member of 2013 Canada Danone Nations Cup team where she was one of two women in the entire tournament.

2018 Montreal Impact Tony Licurci Bursary Winner… 2016 Quebec Gold Medal Club Bursary and Gold Medal Recipient… 2014 and 2015 Saputo Quebec Foundation of Athlete Excellence Bursary Recipient.

Head Coach Karen Ferguson-Dayes on Jessica De Filippo – "I am thrilled to add a player of Jessica's caliber to our 2019 team. She is a true striker who can score goals! She can play with her back to goal and link up with players, or she can get in behind you both with and without the ball. She is also tremendous in the air and will provide us with an aerial presence both defensively and offensively."

Forward | 5-5

Club Team: Connecticut FC

High School Accomplishments
Tallied 17 goals and seven assists senior season… Team Captain junior and senior seasons… All-FCIAC and All-State team selection junior season after scoring 15 goals and recording eight assists… All-FCIAC team selection sophomore season.

Club Team Accomplishments
Played for Connecticut FC in the ECNL.

Head Coach Karen Ferguson-Dayes on Corinne Dente – "I am super excited about Corinne and know she is going to make an outstanding addition to our 2019 team. She is a tremendous dribbler and loves to run at players with the ball! She can score goals in a variety of ways and will bring an excitement and flair to our attacking presence. She is also very competitive, driven and completely dedicated to reaching her full potential."

Named to All-State and First Team All-Region Teams senior year… Named First Team All-Region selection junior year… Named to All-Catholic Girls Soccer First Team junior season… Named to I-65 All-Tournament Team junior year… All-Catholic Girls Soccer Second Team and Kentucky Regional Second Team selection sophomore year… Male Bulldog All-Tournament team member freshman year… District and Regional Champion freshman and sophomore seasons… Swam for Mercy Academy freshman and sophomore years.

Academic Accomplishments
President of National Honor Society… Principal's List member all four years of high school.
