Women's Soccer's L'Esperance Advances to Semifinals of CONCACAF Under-20 Women’s Championship

The freshman and Team Canada won Group A on Monday
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Louisville freshman Nadege L'Esperance has advanced to the semifinals of the 2018 CONCACAF Under-20 Women's Championship with Canada Soccer Women's U-20 team. They have won Group A, going undefeated in all three matches after topping Haiti 4-0 in their final group stage fixture on Monday. Over the group stage, Canada has outscored its opponents 11-2 and recorded one clean sheet.
Canada will have to wait until Tuesday evening to find out their opponent for the Semi-Final as Mexico and USA face off to determine the final rankings in Group B. As winners of Group A, Canada will play the runner-up of Group B on Friday, 26 January at 7:00 p.m. available via CONCACAF at https://www.youtube.com/concacaf
Canada has advanced to the Semi-Final in every CONCACAF Under-20 Women's Championship since it's inception in 2004, with an exception of 2014 when Canada automatically qualified for the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup as hosts. Canada has won the CONCACAF Under-20 Women's Championship twice before in 2004 and 2008, placed second in 2006, 2012, and 2016; and, placed third in 2010. Canada has qualified for the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup in every edition.
