This week features former standout Erica Robinson
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- This week's Alumni Spotlight features former Cardinal forward/defender Erica Robinson. Robinson played for the Cards from 2004-06 and provided tremendous versatility to the team.
A native of Louisville, Robinson came to Louisville after attending duPont Manual High School. The forward was originally from Sacramento, California. Robinson earned all-state honors three out of her four years as a starter in high school. She scored 66 goals and contributed 61 assists during her career as a Ram and was a member of the Kentucky ODP team as early at age 11.
In her freshman campaign, she started in 12 of 16 games and scored her first collegiate goal against TCU in late October. She finished her first season with the Cardinals earning Conference USA all-freshman team honors.
During her sophomore season, Robinson was asked to move to the backline to address the team's needs on defense. She started in 12 of 17 matches for the Cards and had a solid year on defense. During her junior season, Robinson played both the offense and defense for the Cardinals, showing her versatility as a player. She scored a crucial game winning-goal on a header against St. John's.
Robinson was not only a star on the field but in the classroom as well. She was a regular member of the Athletic Director's Honor Roll, the Conference USA Commissioner's List, and a Red and Black Scholar. She studied nursing at UofL and currently works as a nurse in Louisville.
Robinson left her mark on the Cardinals' Soccer program. She was a true team player, willing to play whatever position the team needed from her to help them be successful. She used her athleticism and versatility to play every role to the best of her ability, which is how Robinson has left her mark on the Louisville Women's Soccer program.
