Women's Soccer Hosts Marquette on Sunday

Cardinals return to action on Sunday against Marquette at 1 pm
The University of Louisville women's soccer team returns home to host Marquette on Sunday afternoon. The Cardinals are coming off a 2-0 win over Indiana on Thursday night, improving to 3-0 on the season.
Freshman Emina Ekic leads the Cardinals in scoring with two goals for four points. Three players (Alison Price, Allison Whitfield and Gabrielle Vincent) each have one goal and one assist for three points.
Redshirt freshman Gabrielle Kouzelos owns a 0.67 goals against average after her first two games in goal. She recorded has recorded two straight shutouts and has nine saves on the year.
Head coach Karen Ferguson-Dayes is in her 18th season with the Cardinals. She has guided Louisville to four NCAA Tournament appearances, including a Sweet 16 appearance in 2011.
SCOUTING MARQUETTE
The Golden Eagles (2-1) are coming off an opening weekend that saw them drop their season opener to then-No. 2 Stanford, 4-0, on Friday before rebounding with a 2-1 triumph over Kentucky at Valley Fields. Sophomore goalkeeper Maddy Henry made 11 saves over the weekend, including a career-best nine in the loss to the Cardinal, to earn BIG EAST Conference Weekly Honor Roll recognition on Monday. Forwards Carrie Madden and Abby Hess each scored second half goals in the win over the Wildcats as MU evened its record on Sunday afternoon.
The Golden Eagles defeated Drake last night 3-0.
SERIES HISTORY
Former longtime conference rivals, the Cardinals own a 16-6-1 record in the series over the Golden Eagles. The last meeting resulted in a 3-2 double overtime victory for the Golden Eagles on Sept. 21, 2013.
