Cardinals face first road challenge at Indiana on Thursday evening
The University of Louisville women's soccer team will play the first road game of the season at Indiana on Thursday night. Â The Cardinals enter the match with a 2-0 record after defeating Boston 3-2 and Miami (OH) 2-0 in the opening weekend. Â

Junior defender Gabrielle Vincent and sophomore forward Allison Whitfield lead the Cardinals in scoring with one goal and one assist for three points. Â The Cardinals have had five different players score a goal in the first two games. Â Â

Redshirt freshman Gabrielle Kouzelos owns a 1.00 goals against average after her first two games in goal. Â She recorded her first shutout on Sunday against Miami (OH) and seven saves on the year. Â Â Â Â Â

Head coach Karen Ferguson-Dayes is in her 18th season with the Cardinals. She has guided Louisville to four NCAA Tournament appearances, including a Sweet 16 appearance in 2011.

Indiana enters the game with an overall record of 1-1, coming off a 1-0 loss to no. 13 Clemson in the second game of the Hoosier Challenge Cup. The Hoosiers won their season opener over Cal Poly, 3-1. Sophomore defender Meghan Scott leads the team in points with one goal and one assist on the season. Junior Maya Piper and redshirt-junior Annelie Leitner rank second on the team with two points, each scoring a goal. Freshman goalkeeper Bethany Kopel leads the team with four saves.Â
Amy Berbary enters her fifth season as the head coach at Indiana, where she has compiled a 33-38-12 record. Before her stint with the Hoosiers, she was an assistant for five seasons at Auburn University.
