Rain Wins Finale; Louisville Enters ACC Championship as No. 1 Seed

Louisville honored nine seniors during ceremony following Saturday night’s cancellation
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The No. 2 Louisville baseball team's regular season finale slated for Saturday night against Florida State was cancelled due to persistent rain moving through the region.
Lightning and heavy rain arrived at the corner of Third and Central well ahead of the scheduled first pitch time of 7:30 p.m., ET, while the decision to officially cancel the game was made at 8:40 p.m., as rain continued to fall. Following the cancellation, the Cardinals honored senior players Michael Bollmer, Chandler Dale, Shane Hummel, Colin Lyman, Jake Sparger, Ryan Summers and Logan Taylor, and senior managers Michael Allman and Austin Blake with a closed ceremony inside the team complex at Jim Patterson Stadium.
With the completion of the regular season on Saturday, Louisville (46-9, 23-6 ACC) will enter next week's 2017 ACC Championship at Louisville Slugger Field as the No. 1 seed. The Cardinals, who won their third consecutive ACC Atlantic Division title, will head up Pool A and be joined by No. 8 seed Florida State (35-20, 14-14) and No. 12 seed Notre Dame (26-30, 10-20).
Pool B features No. 2 North Carolina (44-11, 23-7), along with No. 7 NC State (33-22, 16-14) and No. 11 Boston College (25-26, 11-19). No. 3 Wake Forest (38-17, 19-11) is joined in Pool C by No. 6 Miami (29-26, 16-13) and No. 10 Georgia Tech (27-26, 11-19), while Pool D features No. 4 Virginia (41-13, 18-12), No. 5 Clemson (39-17, 17-13) and No. 9 Duke (28-27, 12-18).
The ACC Baseball Championship will feature a pool-play format, leading into a four-team, single-elimination bracket to determine the league champion. Each team in the four pools will play one game against each of the other two opponents in its pool Tuesday through Friday (May 23-26). The four teams with the best records within their respective pools will advance to Saturday's semifinals, with the winners playing on Sunday in the ACC Championship Game.
Game times Tuesday through Friday are set for 11 a.m., 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday's semifinals are scheduled for 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., while Sunday's championship will begin at noon.

Regional Sports Networks from across the conference footprint and across the nation will carry all 14 games on Tuesday through Saturday. Sunday's noon championship game will televised nationally by ESPN2. All games will also be available on WatchESPN (subject to blackout).
The ACC Baseball Championship FanFest will be held at the Hall of Fame Pavilion inside Louisville Slugger Field beginning at 5 p.m. on Friday, May 26, 12 p.m. on Saturday, May 27 and 10 a.m. on Sunday, May 28. Open to the public, the event will include a special ACC Baseball exhibit from the Louisville Slugger Museum, face painting, bourbon tasting, a photo booth, inflatables, merchandise for sale and more attractions for fans of all ages.
