Women's Swimming and Diving Set for ACC Championships

Diving is underway at the Georgia Tech pool
GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – The 2017 Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Swimming & Diving and Men's Diving Championships begin Monday, February 13, and continue through Thursday, February 16, at the McAuley Aquatics Center in Atlanta, Georgia.

Defending ACC Champion Virginia enters the Championship ranked No. 8 in the latest CSCAA poll. The Cavaliers are led by head coach Augie Busch and have won nine consecutive conference titles. Virginia finished 4-1 in conference competition this season.

Undefeated No. 7 NC State handed the Cavaliers their only loss of the season and currently sits atop the conference rankings at 3-0. The Wolfpack won the league's first two titles in 1979 and 1980.

Louisville, ranked 10th in the most recent CSCAA poll, finished with a 2-0 conference record. Also featured in the poll are No. 18 Duke (2-2), No. 23 North Carolina (0-4) and No. 24 Notre Dame (3-1). Florida State (2-0) and Virginia Tech (1-3) also received votes.

A live video stream of event finals will be available on ACC Network Extra on Tuesday through Thursday, starting at 6 p.m. Veteran ESPN announcer Sam Gore will handle play-by-play, where he will be joined by swimming analyst Brendan Hansen – a six-time Olympic medalist – and diving analyst Jason Baumann, a former collegiate coach and USA Diving Staff member who is now regarded as one of the sport's top judges.Â

There is no charge for admission to the 2017 ACC Swimming & Diving Championships.
