Louisville native named a top freshman in the nation
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The University of Louisville's freshman midfielder Emina Ekic has been named one of Top Drawer Soccer's Top 100 Freshman. This is the first watch list of the season, ranking the top freshmen in the nation.
Ekic debuts at No. 37 on the list. She is one of 23 freshman listed from the ACC. She is ranked as the 12th best freshman in the Atlantic Coast Conference, at 37 overall.
The Louisville native leads the Cardinals in scoring this season. She leads the team with 17 points from seven goals and three assists. She is the team leader in goals scored, shots and shots on goal. She also leads the team with two game-winning goals. She is the only player on the team to score multiple goals in multiple matches.
The Cardinals will be back in action on Friday, Oct. 13 as they host Pittsburgh for a 5:30 p.m. match.
