Dunn goes 2-for-4 with two RBI, Wyatt doubles, drives in a run and scores once in victory
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Powered by a pivotal three-run third inning, Adam's A's evened the 2017 Pizza Bowl with Thursday's 6-2 win against Tiberi's Tigers in game two of the series at Jim Patterson Stadium.
A day after falling 7-4 in game one of the best-of-five series, the A's never trailed as freshman infielder Lucas Dunn finished 2-for-4 with two RBI and sophomore infielder Logan Wyatt doubled, scored once and added a RBI sacrifice fly. Junior outfielder Josh Stowers was hit by a pitch and scored the first run in the third inning, while freshman Zach Britton doubled and scored in the frame. Sophomore Justin Lavey drove in Stowers with a RBI fielder's choice before scoring the final run later in the inning.
On the mound, junior Liam Jenkins earned the win allowing two runs on two hits with two strikeouts in 3.1 innings. Four relief pitchers followed Jenkins with scoreless outings to maintain the lead – freshman lefty Connor Adams (1.2 IP, 1 SO), sophomore righty Stewart Currie (1.0 IP), graduate righty Austin Conway (1.1, 2 SO) and junior righthander Sam Bordner (1.2 IP, 1 SO).
Sophomore Drew Campbell led the Tigers as the outfielder had a RBI single, one stolen base and walked once. Junior righthanded pitcher Bryan Hoeing was solid in the starting role for the Tigers finishing with four strikeouts and allowing two earned runs in four innings.

ABOUT THE PIZZA BOWL
Upon his hiring as Louisville head coach in the summer of 2006, Dan McDonnell immediately created an atmosphere of competition throughout the Cardinals baseball program. Whether it's through conditioning in the Omaha Challenge, or in preseason scrimmages, McDonnell creates competitive situations to give his players numerous opportunities to prepare for what they will see during conference and postseason games.
One of the most effective ways McDonnell and his coaching staff can provide the Louisville players with those competitive, game-like situations is through the annual Pizza Bowl series. Following approximately six weeks of fall practice sessions, the Cardinals take to the field for what started as a one-game scrimmage in the fall of 2006 and has become an ultra-competitive three-game or five-game intra-squad series. The winning team is rewarded by being served as much pizza as it would like by the losing squad, which in turn shares what is left. The Pizza Bowl series has become an exciting and highly anticipated ending to the fall for Louisville coaches, players and fans.
