Cardinals continue two game road stint at Duke
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The University of Louisville women's soccer team will continue league play this week at Duke. Â The Cardinals will play just their third road game of the season on Thursday, Sept. 22 at Duke at 7:00 p.m.Â

Louisville enters the match with an overall record of 6-2-1 with a 1-0 win over Pittsburgh Saturday night. Â Â

Brooklynn Rivers leads the Cardinals with 10 points. Â She has four goals and two assists on the year. Allison Whitfield led the Cardinals with the lone goal in the win over Pittsburgh Saturday night. Gabrielle Vincent enters the game second on the team in points with three goals and two assists, while Whitfield also has two goals and three assists on the year.Â

Taylor Bucklin leads the Cardinals in goal with a 6-2-1 record and four shutouts on the season. Â She has a 0.77 goals against average, allowing only seven goals. Â She also has 19 saves on the year. Â Â Â Â
Head coach Karen Ferguson-Dayes is in her 17th season with the Cardinals. She has guided Louisville to four NCAA Tournament appearances, including a Sweet 16 appearance in 2011.
SCOUTING DUKE
Duke enters the game with an overall record of 6-2-1, coming off a 3-2 win over Boston College. Sophomore midfielder Taylor Racioppi comes into the game leading the Blue Devils with three goals and five assists on the season. Junior forward/midfielder Imani Dorsey and senior midfielder/forward Toni Payne have both added three goals and three assists. Sophomore forward Kayla McCoy leads Duke in goals on the season with four.Â

Junior goalkeeper EJ Proctor has a 0.99 goals against average and 18 saves for the Blue Devils on season. Â Â Â

Robbie Church is in his 16th season at Duke, where he has guided the Blue Devils to 12 NCAA Tournament appearances and three College Cup appearances. He led Duke to the 2016 National Championship match, where they lost to Penn State 1-0. Church returns 10 starters for the 2016 season.
SERIES HISTORY
 The series between the Cardinals and the Blue Devils has yet to see the winner with the series record stuck at 0-0-3 overall. Last season they played to a 0-0 double overtime draw in Louisville.  Â

   •The Cardinals have scored four goals in straight three matches this season.  The only time in school history the Cardinals have scored four or more goals in three consecutive games in a season was in 1986.  Louisville defeated Morehead State 5-0 on Oct. 8 , then defeated Morehead State again 4-1 on Oct. 10, and defeated Kentucky 7-0 on Oct. 11.Â
   • Freshman Brooklynn Rivers is the only Cardinal player to score multiple goals in multiple games this season.  She scored two goals against Belmont and two goals atÂ
   • Gabrielle Vincent's hat trick on Aug. 26 was the first hat trick since Emily Cardell scored on against then ranked No. 20 Marquette on Oct. 17, 2010.Â
   • This season the Cardinal roster has five international players.  Returners Inger Katrine Bjerke is from Norway while Tina Marolt is from Slovenia.  Joining the Cardinals this season is Sarah Feola from Quebec, Canada, Mhairi Fyfe from Livingston, Scotland, and Kathellen Sousa-Feitoza from Sao Vicente, Brazil.Â
   • Freshman Allison Whitfield has followed in her sister Casey's footsteps, playing at Louisville.  She also wears the number 23, same as Casey.  The also are similar in both play, Casey was one of the top play makers for the Cardinals and so far, Allison has lived up to those expectations. Â
   • The Cardinals have two freshmen with national team experience this season.  Freshmen Sarah Feola and Gabrielle Kouzelos have played this summer with their national teams.
