
Men's Soccer Returns to Lynn to Host Xavier on Tuesday

Kickoff for the Cardinals and Musketeers set for 7:30 p.m., ET
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -Â Following a trio of road matches, the Louisville men's soccer team returns to the friendly confines of Dr. Mark and Cindy Lynn Stadium to host Xavier on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m., ET. The match will be televised on ACC Network Extra, available online through WatchESPN, while live scoring is provided at GoCards.com.
ABOUT THE CARDINALS
Louisville opened its 2016 Atlantic Coast Conference slate with a 2-0 victory at Pittsburgh last Friday night. The result capped a 2-1-0 road swing for Louisville, which hosts pair of home matches this week as No. 1 Notre Dame visits Lynn Stadium on Friday night.Â
The Cardinals, who returned eight players with 13 or more starts from last year's team, have been paced by junior Mohamed Thiaw's three goals this season. The transfer from Cincinnati State has started all five matches in his first season in a Louisville kit. Defensively, graduate student and Dartmouth transfer Stefan Cleveland has allowed only two goals while registering three shutouts.
ABOUT THE MUSKETEERS
Xavier enters Tuesday's match at 2-1-2 on the season after earning a 4-2 victory against rival Cincinnati on Friday night. Last season, the Musketeers were 12-6-1 overall and finished fourth in the Big East with a 5-3-1 mark. Xavier is guided by seventh year head coach Andy Fleming, who is 75-35-20 with the Musketeers.

Tuesday marks the 17th meeting all-time between the Cardinals and Musketeers with Louisville holding an 8-5-3 edge overall. This will be the first meeting between the programs since 2003 and will be Xavier's first visit to Louisville since the Cardinals earned a 5-0 win on Sept. 12, 2000.
