Women's Soccer Participated in Fall Sports Media Day on Friday

Head coach Karen Ferguson-Dayes and several members of the Louisville women's soccer team met with reporters during the Cardinals' annual fall sports media day activities on Friday afternoon at Dr. Mark and Cindy Lynn Stadium.
Ferguson-Dayes, entering her 17th season leading the Louisville program, was joined by senior All-ACC keeper Taylor Bucklin, junior defender Inger Katrine Bjerke and sophomore defender Gabrielle Vincent in previewing the 2016 season. The Cardinals will once again play another challenging schedule in the 2016 season, the Cardinals will host three teams ranked in the preseason NSCAA Top 25 (Virginia, Notre Dame and Boston College).
Last season the Cardinals gained some momentum in the conference, knocking of the top ranked team in the nation for the first time in school history. They followed the North Carolina overtime win up with a tie against Duke, a team that went on to the College Cup. The Cardinals will be a strong defensive team, returning all four starters from the backline along with All-ACC goalkeeper Bucklin.
Louisville enters the 2016 season with 12 returning letterwinners and 15 newcomers. The Cardinals begin the season on Aug. 19 as they travel to Indiana on Friday night for a 7:00 p.m. start. Louisville will wrap up exhibition play on Saturday, Aug. 13 at they host Morehead State at 4:00 p.m.
