
Women's Soccer Adds Two Standouts to the 2016 Recruiting Class

Fyfe and Sousa will bolster the Cardinal offense next season
LOUISVILLE, KY. -- University of Louisville head coach Karen Ferguson-Dayes announced the addition of two standout student-athletes to the 2016 recruiting class. Mhairi Fyfe and Kathellen Sousa-Feitoza will bolster the Cardinals' offense next season.
The addition of Fyfe and Sousa gives the 2016 recruiting class nine offensive and three defensive players. On offense, the class is made up of five midfielders and four forwards. Defensively, the Cardinals added three to the back line and one goalkeeper.
Mhairi Fyfe
Forward | 5-4 | Port Glasgow, Scotland
Previous School: Campbellsville University
Accomplishments:
Started in all 22 games for Campbellsville last season as a junior... She earned NAIA Third Team All-American honors ... became Campbellsville's all-time leading scorer in her third season with the Lady Tigers ... finished her junior year scoring 27 goals and adding four assists ... Was named Mid-South Conference Player of the Year as a junior ... set the sing-season goals mark in her sophomore and then again in her junior season ... Scored 24 goals and dished out nine assists for 57 points her sophomore season ... She helped the Lady Tiger team that finished third at the NCCAA National Tournament.
"Is a native of Scotland who has had a stellar three year career at Campbellesville University, having garnered many accolades while creating a reputation as a goal scorer in her conference. Mhairi aspires to play on the Scottish National Team and is very excited about the challenge of playing in the ACC to help her prepare for her future goals as a professional soccer player. Kathellen Sousa-Feitoza
Midfielder | 5-10 | Sao Vicente, Brazil
Previous School: Monroe College
Accomplishments:
Helped guide her team to the 2014 NJCAA National Championship her freshman year and a 2015 NFCAA Final Four appearance her sophomore year ... Finished her sophomore year with six points and started 15 games for the Mustangs ... A 2015 NSCAA All-Region selection ... A leader for the team, had a standout performance against CCRI, where she totaled three points on a goal and an assist ... Her meteoric rise through the Monroe College program is a story of relentless hard work and success.
"Kathellen is a native of Brazil and grew up playing futsal in the streets of Sao Vincent with boys all her life. This unique experience has given her a tremendous confidence on the ball, the ability to play very quickly, and great vision. Kathellen has enjoyed a high level of success at Monroe College having won the 2014 NJCAA National Championship, and advancing to the Final Four in 2015. That experience of playing for and winning national championships will help her step into a leadership role over her two years at Louisville.
