Women's Soccer Meets with the Media on Thursday

Head coach Karen Ferguson-Dayes and several members of the Louisville women's soccer team met with reporters during the Cardinals' annual media day activities on Thursday afternoon at Dr. Mark and Cindy Lynn Stadium.
Ferguson-Dayes, entering her 16th season leading the Louisville program, was joined by senior forward Casey Whitfield and sophomore Inger Katrine Bjerke in previewing the 2015 season. The Cardinals will once again play another challenging schedule in the 2015 season, which includes hosting reigning national champion Florida State in Lynn Stadium.
Last season, the Cardinals were initiated into the Atlantic Coast Conference, finishing the first season with a 3-5-2 and finished eighth in the league rankings. Alison Price and Isabella Habuda led the Cardinals in scoring last season. Louisville will get a boost in the forward position this year with the return of leading scorer Whitfield. The Cardinals were picked to finish 10th in the ACC out of 16 teams.
Louisville enters the 2015 season with 16 returning letterwinners and nine newcomers. The Cardinals begin the season on Aug. 21 as they host Wright State on Friday night in Dr. Mark and Cindy Lynn Stadium. Louisville will wrap up exhibition play on Sunday, Aug. 16 at they host Indiana at 5:00 p.m.

Season tickets for Louisville's second season at Dr. Mark and Cindy Lynn Stadium are now available. Ticket prices for the 2015 season will remain the same as the inaugural season and will start as low as $45. Season tickets for 2015 include every regular season home match for both the men's and women's soccer programs.
