SETTING THE STAGE
Louisville enters the match with an overall record of 5-6-2 and a league record of 2-2-2 and currently stand in eighth place of the ACC Standings. The Cardinals fell 1-0 to Boston College on Sunday afternoon at Lynn Stadium. The Eagles scored in the fifth minute and despite a strong offensive showing in the second half, the Cards could not score an equalizer.
Freshman Isabella Habuda leads Louisville in scoring with three goals and one assist for seven points. Freshman Alison Price ranks second on the team with two goals for four points. Sophomore keeper Paige Brown leads the team in goal with 29 saves and a 1.41 goals against average.
Head coach Karen Ferguson-Dayes is in her 15th season with the Cardinals. She has guided Louisville to four NCAA Tournament appearances, including a Sweet 16 appearance in 2011. Under the direction of Ferguson-Dayes, Louisville has achieved double-digit wins in the last four consecutive seasons.
SCOUTING NORTHERN KENTUCKY
Northern Kentucky enters the match with an overall record of 5-6-3. The Norse claimed a 4-3 victory over Atlantic Sun Conference opponent Stetson University on Sunday afternoon in Deland, Fla.
Hamblin leads the Norse in scoring with six goals and four assists for 16 points. Second on the team in scoring is Laumann with three goals and six assists for 12 points. Redshirt sophomore Brooke Schocker (10 game starts) has collected 35 saves and holds a 2.03 goals against average, while redshirt junior Tanner Ruberg has started eight games and owns a 1.41 goals against average.
Head coach Bob Sheehan is in his 18th year as the only women's soccer head coach in Northern Kentucky University history. He has built the NKU's program from scratch into one of the nation's best with a 264-74-20 overall record. Sheehan's teams have captured an unprecedented seven Great Lakes Valley Conference championships while NKU competed at the NCAA Division II level.

Today's match is the first meeting between the two teams.

The Cardinals will wrap up the four game home stand on Sunday, Oct. 19 as they host Virginia in Dr. Mark and Cindy Lynn Stadium. The match will kick off at 1:00 p.m.
BROWN EARNS START IN GOAL
Sophomore Paige Brown become one of just two returning starters this season as she stepped between the posts for the Cardinals. Brown started in 16 games for the Cardinals last year as a freshman. So far this season Brown has a 1.41 goals against average. She has collected 29 saves and has four shutouts on the year.
HOMEGROWN TALENT
The Cardinals roster features five players from the state of Kentucky.Three players are from the city of Louisville, Casey Whitfield, Hannah Konermann and Clare Andres. Freshman Shelby Cohen is from LaGrange and Taylor Smith is from Pewee Valley. Shelby Cohen earned a starting position on the back line early in the year. Hannah Konnermann started the last game for the Cardinal defense. Whitfield is sitting out this season with an achilles injury.
