
Women's Soccer's Exeter Among Nation's Top Upperclassmen

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Louisville women's soccer junior forward Christine Exeter was ranked No. 6 overall in the preseason TopDrawerSoccer.com Top 100 Upperclassmen list released last weekend.
Exeter (Pickering, Ont./Pickering HS), the 2011 BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Year and a unanimous preseason All-BIG EAST selection in 2012, led the Cardinals with 14 goals and three assists while starting 23 of 24 games as a sophomore. A 2011 NSCAA All-America honoree, Exeter connected for five game-winning goals, including the only goal of the match in the Cardinals' win at Cincinnati to clinch the program's first ever BIG EAST National Division title.
Named to the to the Missouri Athletic Club's (MAC) Hermann Trophy watch list for 2012 last week, Exeter is currently in Japan competing for Canada at the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup. Joined by U of L teammate Rachel Melhado in the starting lineup, Team Canada opened the World Cup with a 6-0 win over Argentina on Monday.
Without Exeter in the lineup, Louisville (1-0) will next host Purdue on Friday at 7 p.m., ET in the regular season home-opener at Cardinal Park.
