Cards-Gophers Suspended in the Ninth; Play to Resume Saturday

CLEARWATER, Fla. - The 15th-ranked Louisville baseball team's season-opener against Minnesota at the Big Ten/BIG EAST Challenge was suspended in the ninth inning on Friday afternoon due to heavy rain and will be resumed on Saturday at 12:30 p.m., ET.
All updates on the completion of the Louisville-Minnesota game on Saturday will be provided by Louisville baseball on Twitter at http://twitter.com/uoflbaseball. Neither live audio nor Gametracker will be available for the conclusion of the UofL-Minn game.
When play resumes at the Walter Fuller Complex in St. Petersburg on Saturday, the Cardinals will have the bases loaded with two outs trailing 7-3 and senior outfielder Stewart Ijames due at the plate. Friday's game was halted at approximately 12:40 p.m., at Jack Russell Memorial Stadium and action was cancelled for the evening after officials determined the field conditions at the ballpark were unplayable.
After the Louisville-Minnesota contest is completed on Saturday, the Cardinals will play their regularly scheduled game against Illinois at 4 p.m., ET at Al Lang Stadium.
