2012: Earned Second Team All-BIG EAST honors. Hit .259 with team-leading 12 home runs, team-high 65 RBI, 15 doubles and 48 runs scored in 63 games. Had a three-run double to right field in his final regular season at-bat at Jim Patterson Stadium in the Cards' May 15 win over Morehead State. Connected for 12th home run of the season, a two-run shot to right, in series-clinching win over St. John's on May 13. Hit 11th home run of the season and 44th of his career in May 6 win at WVU. Added a single, two RBI and a run in May 5 win at WVU. Went 3-for-5 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in April 28 win over UConn. Had a single, two walks, two RBI and three runs scored in series-clinching win at USF on April 21. Singled and doubled with three RBI in April 17 win at Indiana. 2011: Named Second Team All-BIG EAST for the second straight season. Was second on the team with 11 home runs and 45 RBI while hitting .247 in 58 games. Went 2-for-3 with a run scored in Cards' win over Pittsburgh in the BIG EAST Championship. Was 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored in series-opening win over Notre Dame. Had game-winning, three-run home run in the 10th of Cards' 6-3 win at No. 15 UConn on May 14. Also had a home-run robbing catch in right field on a flyball off the bat of Huskies' George Springer in the May 14 win. Was 2-for-5 with game-winning two-run homer (10th of the season) to key Cards' six-run seventh inning against Georgetown on May 1. Was 3-for-4 with first career grand slam and five RBI in April 30 victory over Hoyas. Finished 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored against USF on April 23. Was 2-for-4 in Cards' April 19 loss to Indiana. Went 2-for-3 with eighth home run of the season and two RBI at St. John's on April 17. Finished 2-for-4 with a run scored on April 16 against Red Storm. Was 2-for-4 with an RBI against Kentucky on April 12. Had a hit in each of the Cardinals' three games at Cincinnati. 2010: Selected in 29th Round (895th overall) of 2010 MLB Draft by New York Yankees. Earned Second Team All-BIG EAST Conference honors. Finished third on the team with 14 home runs and hit .324 overall with 63 RBI while starting 63 games in the Cardinals' outfield. Was 2-for-4 with two runs and an RBI in win over Saint Louis to open NCAA Regional. Hit game-winning, two-run homer in the 11th inning of the Cards' 9-7 win over USF at BIG EAST Tournament. 2009: Returned from a shoulder injury to have a strong summer playing for the Thomasville HiToms. Finished tied for Coastal Plain League lead in home runs with 12 in 48 games in the wooden bat league. Hit .282 overall for Thomasville with 37 RBI. Missed the Cards' season while recovering from a shoulder injury.
2008: Named Third Team All-BIG EAST and Freshman All-American by Collegiate Baseball and PING!Baseball after batting .351 with 11 doubles, eight home runs and 39 RBI. Led the team with a .386 average in BIG EAST games, drilling five home runs and striking out just four times while walking six times in 70 at bats. Finished the season with a flourish, going 4-for-5 with two runs, three RBI and a double, as well as the first home run hit off of SEC Pitcher of the Year Joshua Fields, a two-run shot in the ninth in his last at bat of the season on May 31. Had a monster game in the BIG EAST Championship win over UC on May 24, belting a two-run, tie-breaking double and going 2-for-4 with two RBI and two runs. Doubled and homered in win over VU in BE Championship on May 21. Was 2-for-5 with a pair of runs, doubling home one in tournament-opening win over Seton Hall on May 20. Doubled home a run and walked against RU on May 17. His sixth home run of the season, a two-run shot to right in the sixth inning, proved to be the difference in a 3-1 win over Rutgers in the opener of a doubleheader sweep on May 16. Doubled in 2-for-4 effort in win over Butler on May 7. Drilled a three-run home run and scored twice in win at IU on May 6. Was 6-for-15 with two doubles, four runs and three RBI in series sweep at GU, including first career four-hit game. In taking two of three against rival Cincinnati, he was 6-of-10 with a home run and a triple, driving in four. Went 6-for-10 with two home runs, a double, three RBI and five runs scored in Villanova series, including a three-hit game in the finale on April 20. Singled home a pair of runs in win at Ohio State on April 16. Doubled and scored in the win over IU on April 15. Drilled a tie-breaking three-run home run to center and later hit an RBI single in win over SJU on April 6. Went 2-for-3 with a run scored in win at Pitt on March 30. Enjoyed first three-hit game of career, scoring once in win over Butler on March 26. Went 2-for-3 in win over Kent on March 14. Tripled, scored and drove in a run to complete doubleheader sweep of CSU on Feb. 22. Drove in a pair of runs in 2-for-4 effort in debut on Feb. 22.
High School: Drafted in the 46th round by the Brewers. A two-time All-State and three-time All-Region and All-Area selection, he was the state tournament MVP when the Aces won the 2005 state championship. Hit 39 home runs during his career including 10 during his senior season to go with a .542 batting average. Hit .504 with 11 doubles, three triples, 13 home runs, 47 runs scored and 60 RBI his sophomore campaign. Earned five letters in baseball, four in football as a kicker and running back and one in basketball. Played summer ball for the Midland Redskins. Was a third-team All-State football player. Also added six saves on the mound his senior year. Joins Cardinal teammates Justin Marks and Neil Holland from Owensboro Catholic.
Personal: Born in Owensboro, Ky., to George and Joan Ijames on Aug. 21, 1988. Majoring in justice administration at U of L. Wears #5 because it is his brother's favorite number. His parents are his greatest influence on him athletically. Billy Madison is his favorite movie and he watches ESPN, Baseball Tonight and Family Guy on TV. Ken Griffey, Jr., is his favorite athlete. He cheers for the Brewers and the Reds. Pizza is his favorite food and he likes to go to Pizza Hut and Buffalo Wild Wings when he goes out to eat. Not many people know that he was the city and county swimming champion when he was 11 years old, but skipped the state meet because he had a baseball tournament. His dream dinner guests would be Griffey, Babe Ruth and the Pope.
