Cardinals' Yenney Named to BIG EAST Honor Roll

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Louisville women's soccer freshman midfielder Erin Yenney was named to the BIG EAST Conference Weekly Honor Roll on Monday after her outstanding performances last weekend.

Yenney (Troy, Ohio/Troy HS) scored three points as the Cardinals went 1-0-1 last week. She started the weekend by scoring the game-winning goal, her first of the season, in Louisville's 1-0 triumph at No. 12 Notre Dame on Friday. It was the first regular-season win by a league team at Notre Dame since Sept. 30, 2005, and it halted a 62-game unbeaten streak in BIG EAST play for the Fighting Irish.

On Sunday, Yenney had an assist, her second of the season, in the Cardinals' 1-1 tie against visiting DePaul at Cardinal Park. Overall, Yenney is tied for third on the team with four points in her first collegiate season.

Up next, the Cardinals will return to the road for BIG EAST games at Connecticut (Sept. 23, 7 p.m., ET) and Providence (Sept. 25, 1 p.m., ET) this week.
