
Women's Soccer Hosts Vanderbilt for Saturday Night Exhibition

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Louisville women's soccer team will open the 2011 season with an exhibition game against Vanderbilt on Saturday at 7 p.m., ET at Cardinal Park and admission is free.
The game will be preceded by a free soccer clinic with Louisville players and coaches from 5 to 6 p.m., for girls and boys ages 7 to 13.
Louisville head coach Karen Ferguson-Dayes enters her 12th season with the Cardinals, who return eight starters from last year's squad (10-9 record in 2010). U of L is led by sophomore forward and 2010 BIG EAST Rookie of the Year Christine Exeter, who scored a team-leading seven goals and 16 points last season.
Following Saturday's exhibition game, Louisville will open the 2011 regular season on the road at Eastern Kentucky on Friday, Aug. 19 at 5 p.m. The Cardinals' regular-season home-opener is set for Sunday, Aug. 28 at 1 p.m., against Illinois.
