Signees Whitfield, Konermann Lead Club Team to Regional Title Game

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville women's soccer signees Casey Whitfield and Hannah Konermann were key contributors as the Mockingbird Valley Soccer Club girls' under-18 team advanced to the final of the U.S. Youth Soccer Region II Championships last week in Appleton, Wis.
Whitfield, a forward from Louisville and a graduate of Manual High School, scored seven goals in five games to lead all goal scorers in the 16-team field. Konermann, a graduate of Mercy Academy in Louisville, was a defender for Mockingbird Valley throughout the event.
It marked the first time that a Mockingbird Valley team had reached a regional final. Mockingbird Valley lost the title game 3-1 to FC Milwaukee.
