Varsity Eight Defeats Wisconsin at Longhorn Invitational

AUSTIN, Texas - The University of Louisville rowing team closed out the Longhorn Invitational on Sunday with a varsity eight win over Wisconsin at Lady Bird Lake.
In their final race of the event, the Cardinals' varsity eight crew finished with a time of 7:04.3 across the course to edge the Badgers' time of 7:04.35. It was the second win of the weekend for Louisville's varsity eight boat.
In other races on Sunday morning, Louisville's second varsity eight boat finished with a time of 7:31.0, while Wisconsin led the way with a time of 7:19.7. In the varsity four race, the Cardinals had a time of 8:26.2, while the Badgers earned the victory with a time of 8:10.2. And in a third varsity eight race, U of L had a time of 8:02.0, while Wisconsin finished at 7:38.3.
Up next, the Louisville rowing team will compete against Dartmouth and Tennessee on March 26 in Knoxville, Tenn.
